Bought both off the shelf and custom butchered beef and pork. First time buyer. Cost and how to order explained well. (I have ordered from another place in the past so not totally new process. ) The service area was immaculate. Staff very customer friendly. Glad to find a place where I could buy from a non CAFO farmer. Even if you don't want a whole hog they sell sausage and other items as well as variety boxes. Haven't had a chance to try the meat itself but will let you know about taste and quality when I do.

I'm not a huge fan of liver. But I've been trying to include it in my diet along with my 9 year old American Staghound's. I've been shopping here for the past couple of weeks. I picked up some lamb's liver and beef liver for my dog. The lamb's liver I made into a delicious curry. And the beef liver I've been cooking for my dog. Out of curiosity, even though I'm not a beef liver fan, it was incredible! It tasted like fresh grass and wildflowers! Total proof that Story City Locker has access to some of the best raised meat in Iowa!

Story City locker was truly amazing! I was dealing with a very difficult situation for my wedding because I had to fly back to Iowa from my home out in Alaska. Obviously I had a million other things to get done as well and These guys were so amazing they even offered to bring the whole hog all the way out to us! I would like to tell anybody looking for a good butcher to go check out the Story City Locker!!!
