Client Review on Richmond Meat Packers, Inc.
Feedback:
ATTENTION DEER HUNTERS!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! I dropped off a 155# dressed deer for them to process this was a good clean lung shot with no damage to any shoulders, quarters, so there was no wasted meat. I have used them before with no troubles but this time was quite different. I requested 8 salami rolls and 8 hunters jerky packages and the rest of the meat i wanted in steaks and hamburger. I should have been more aware that i was about to get scammed when they advised me no less than 3 times that they do not accept credit cards, debit cards or checks, CASH ONLY!! Upon picking up my deer i was told to bring some coolers etc to carry the meat home. I was asked to pay for the processing first and then they would bring the meat out of the cooler. Well i could have taken a small beer cooler to transport the meat. I had 8 steaks 20 small packages of hamburger and 4 tenderloins and my requested salami and hunters sticks. I asked where the rest of the meat was i got a real quick response of we don't cheat anyone and you lose half of what your deer weighed with the bone and hide , when i do the math it should come close to 75 #s of meat. I said ok. but i also had you put pork in the hamburger so that should add some weight correct? They also charged me 75.00 to pull the hide down to the atlas joint which all they do is pull the hide down the neck 6 inches more and requires little effort. The owner Joe had an excuse for everything. Bottom line is i paid Richmond Meat Packers 395.00 for 43#s of meat that fit in a 24 quart cooler. I will definitely be using Country smoke house in the future. BTW it doesn't take much knowledge to know the salami did not all come from my deer only due to the different levels of freezer burnt on 3 of the salami rolls, obviously been in the freezer longer. THIS PLACE SHOULD GET 0 STARS BUT IT WILL NOT POST UNLESS YOU MARK 1 STAR.
