Been sending me letters stating the account was too old to pursue legal action or report to credit bureaus. Despite the fact I disputed the account 10+yrs ago, they send me something every few years. Today they called me and said the account was placed with them last April (which would be a year ago today). I said "Oh really?! I'd like proof of debt please". She asked what I meant and I told her I wanted a copy of all their records pertaining to the debt. Then she ask a supervisor (w/o placing me on hold... so I can hear them)who instructed her to tell me that they went to court and recieved a judgement against me last month and the judgement was mailed to my address. This disputed debt is 13-14yrs old, it has never been "re-started" by admission or promise to pay. She told me they have 10 yrs to seek a judgement and only credit reporting is 7yrs in WA state. I'm about ready to seek recourse for illegal debt collection practices.
