Capitalone, is becoming the worst bank to deal with.
Reviewed on Nov 04, 2020
Hired For: Credit Card Processing in 2010
What was the best part of the experience?
The experience has recently changed, they are closing locations in Monmouth and Middlesex counties and has become an inconvenience.
What would you change about the experience?
At least leave some ATM's for deposits and withdrawals, not every exchange can be digital. Capitalone is not considering their customer base.
Feedback:
I will close 3 of my business accounts and personal saving and checking and go with a stable bank that is not closing branches.

Terrible, inconsistent, customer service and data breach
Reviewed on Jul 25, 2020
Hired For: Credit Card Processing in 2019
What was the best part of the experience?
Nothing is good about this card. It’s hardly accepted anywhere, the payments never post, it’s impossible to use.
What would you change about the experience?
1) discrimination against female business owners 2) dangerous data breach and was not contacted appropriately 3) extremely rude and inconsistent customer service. Was told several conflicting things on several occasions. 4) no one accepts this card anyway
Feedback:
I applied for a quicksilver card to use as a business card. Despite a credit rating of 749 I was only approved for a $1000 limit. I tried to use the card but with the low limit and funds posting extremely slowly the card proved to be next to useless. I called and was told I could apply for a raised credit limit in 6 months and would be approved as long as I made consistent payments. So I set up auto payment. 9 months later I applied for a raised credit limit and was denied. I called and was told I could contest the finding. I called back to contest the finding and was told that I could contest the finding. I spoke to a manager who was extremely rude and insulted me for not paying enough monthly which was just... insane since I had completely paid the card off before applying for the raised credit limit. I suspect that their refusal to raise my limit despite consistently paying my card, paying it off entirely, AND having good credit is because I am a woman. Why not let me contest?

What would you change about the experience?
A lot of things. I am not impressed with this Credit Card company at all. Almost all represenatives in the company don't do their jobs. The reps are not customer service like. Except for one name Ashley. If customers are not making purchases then Capital One should NOT be telling customers they NEED to make minimum payments because of fraud or whatever the case may be.
Feedback:
I would NEVER recommend this Credit Card comapny to ANYONE. I went with Capital One for a couple years and with the last few months of doing business with them they have made me to believe that i can't trust them with my money or doing any business with them. Without getting into a long story, I noticed several times that there were purchses being made on my Credit Card then weren't mine and called the company every time about the issue and they always told me that it will be handled. The 2nd to last phone call the gentleman did the same thing as all the other people i spoke to. The last phone call i made was to close my account, The lady was VERY nice and respectful. She lowered the current balance significantly. She constantly kept appolojizing for all the inconvience. She was most certainly the nicest person in the company. Her name was Ashley. Huge compliments to Ashley! thaanks for the unconditional Customer Serivce!

Locked card had charge placed on account
Reviewed on Aug 26, 2019
What was the best part of the experience?
Representative was able to find source of the charge and communicate with merchants on my behalf while we were on a 3 way call.
What would you change about the experience?
The card was locked after payoff to show zero balance. Representative told me at the time I locked card that no charges would be placed account. A charge for $20.05 appeared on the account a week after it was locked with a zero balance. I am in process of obtaining a mortgage. This totally defeated the purpose of payoff and having a zero balance. The rep at time I locked card misrepresented NO NEW CHARGES while card is locked
Feedback:
I have had good experiences with Capital One in the past. They have been very helpful explaining benefits and an occasional charge dispute. I am angry today because the new charge showed up after being told NO NEW CHARGES would appear until I unlock and use the card again.
