I have a small savings account that I use to deposit checks while I winter in FL. I withdraw most of this money when I return to CT. I am being charged $5 a month to keep this account open; I assume because of a low balance. I was never made aware of this charge. If I was, I would have left a higher balance.

Would not even give them a one star. The customer service at the Bokum Road, Essex branch was horrible. The teller dismissed me immediately and told me there was at least a 20 minute wait. She never asked me what I needed or made any attempt to assist me. I am seriously considering taking my money elsewhere. The customer service representative that I spoke with on the phone in Albuquerque was very helpful with what I needed to get completed. She was able to complete my transaction within minutes. And addressed my frustration and complaint about the local office. If the teller at the branch took two minutes to ask what I needed she would have been able to direct me. Very disappointed in the attitude at the local branch. Would not recommend this bank.
