I am the executor of my late father's estate and was alerted to the fact that items had been illegally stolen and later pawned to the Art Carl several years ago. Somehow by the grace of God and/or simply great record keeping the owners of this shop were able to locate what was pawned/loaned, when and by whom. The owners were very sympathetic to the situation and offered to continue to look for the items in other databases without them earning a penny. They turned a still sad situation and at least brought some closure for the beneficiaries of the estate. Much thanks again.

I have been dealing with this jeweler for years they have always been a pleasure to deal with. Great prices and very kind people. I would recommend them to anyone that wants a good deal .

Went in there to purchase a guitar that I’ve been eyeing for a while. I was playing it and the man who runs it walked over and took it out of my hands saying, “this is too expensive, you shouldn’t have touched this.” Little does he know, I’m a professional guitarist (many like me know that you can find a gem in pawnshops) and that I’ve been playing for 20 years. They lost a $1400 sale, and my business forever. Do not go there.

I used to be relatively frequent customer and always had a pleasant experience. I returned recently to sell some jewelry and felt like they were trying to rip me off. Fortunately, I at least know what the going price for gold is. The guy that helped me picked through the items of value and gave me a price that was ridiculous! Half of what it was worth! He didn't even separate the 10k from the 14k gold to price accordingly....just threw it all in to weigh together. I took the same items to another local place that buys gold and got $270 right off the bat...no issu offered me $120. I cannot speak to their prices for buying items from them, but beware if you are selling anything to them!!! Must be a change in who runs it or something, because it used be a trustworthy place....now it seems a little shady. Best of luck!

Great store with lots of unique pieces for everyone and an extensive jewelry collection. The presentation and displays were very well done. Friendly, fair and honest people. They are also very educated, informing, they'll do everything and tell you what's going on step by step. I’ll be going back again for sure and highly recommend them.

Terrible people, low pawn prices, over priced store items. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I went in and told the person at the counter (big white guy with bald) that I didn't remember the date I bought an item I was pawning. Counter guy said he had to have a date so I made up one on the spot, since I didn't remember. He goes on to tell me "lying to a pawn broker is a federal crime" in front of the whole full store. If he was listening he would have heard that I was not lying to him at first when I told him I didn't remember the exact date I bought the item. Im really angry this guy just accuses me of lying and stealing. I was nothing but honest with this guy and was treated like trash. Super rude, don't waste your time or money.

Of all the times i needed to get money in emergency i know i can always go to Art Carl Jewelers for a loan or pawn. I'm always treated well and with respect. I hope everyone else will too. 👍

AMAZING!!! AMAZING!!! AMAZING!!!Excellent customer service, nothing but positive things to say about the business. We regard the staff and the establishment as ethical, competent, and reasonably priced. When a jewelry-related situation occurs, my mother and I for over a decade have been going to Art Carl Jewelers & AC Loan to resolve the issue(s) e.g.-repairs, designing an item, and/or finding something interesting to purchase, there is no reason to go anywhere else. Boris and Michael, always a pleasure stopping by your shop. My mother and I are very happy with pendant #1 created for me, we love the design and appreciate all the details incorporated in the piece. Can't wait to see what the second masterpiece will look like. Incredible find.

The guy in there these days is great. I have been going to Art Carl for many different things since I was a kid. I actually think some family members got their wedding and engagement rings there over the years. Always reasonable. I'll be going there as long as they are around. Thanks to Art Carl for their years if dedication to Malden. Don't forget they are still in the square on pleasant st just closer to the beginning of the st since they moved.
